Gwangmyung and Uiwang are cities about an hour south of Seoul. Gwangmyong Cave and Uiwang Rail Park are the places where you can spend the day hanging out with your family and friends not far from Seoul. The Kwangmyong Cave, which makes use of closed gold mine, is decorated with many themes and ready to entertain tourists in the dark. Uiwabg railbike is a great outdoor activity to enjoy riding a rail bike with your best people while watching the lakes, swamps, and wild birds ahead of you.

TOUR  DESCRIPTION

The tourist leaves Seoul in the morning to explore the Gwangmyong cave first before moving to a rail park in Uiwang.  First, take a time to see and experience the past and future appearance of railroad and train at the railroad museum inside the rail park, then tourist ride an exciting railbike around the Wangsong lake in the beautiful countryside.

Tour highlights

Gwangmyung Cave

This has been an abandoned mine from 1972 until 2011, yet served as storage for fermented shrimp with a strong odor. However, Gwangmyeong city purchased it and created it as a theme park for cultural art space and successfully established it as the largest cave theme park in South Korea.

Uiwang Rail bike

The rail bike trails around Uiwang Wangsong lake, with the lake on one side and park on the other, provides quite a refreshing experience. Sounds and lively flights of various birds add to the breathtaking experience of nature. It is 4.3 km long rail bike trail that takes almost 50 minutes is the newest tourist attraction and picnic spot in the town.

Train Museum

The museum features various materials and items like artifacts and vehicles of railroad history in Korea. There are many different types of train cars and engines on display outside. Inside they have model trains displayed, all sorts of train parts and information on the history of trains. The highlight is a showing of the model train display where visitors were able to watch them run on the model tracks.
